Unlicensed fixed wireless access (FWA) has a potentially significant role to play in broadband and BEAD. Unless common sense and good judgment are crucified. NTIA, against reason, practicality, and common sense, has directed states to prioritize fiber optic networks in BEAD projects, , and use unlicensed FWA only in extremely “high-cost per location threshold” areas that have not yet even been determined by the NTIA and the states.
