Would you like to be able to label the connections you have to other members?
I am considering requesting BuddyBoss, the software vendor for our theme, to add a new feature. This feature would allow users to label their relationships. These labels could be anything they want.
For example, here are two different types of connections:
Person – PARTNERS WITH – Person
Person – WORKS FOR – Person
The labels could work like tags, such that words might auto complete, as you were typing, if that label already exists.
Examine the illustration below, which shows how two nodes are connected by an edge. In our case, the NODES would only be members of our network. The line between two nodes can have a label placed along the edge, and the line may or may not have directionality in one or both directions. For example, the label. “works with” would have an arrowhead at each end of the line. However, “works for” would point to the boss. It is fair to assume that if members joining our community network are aligned with our mission, then a social graph would enable our community to be much more powerful!
