We approach policy advocacy by emphasizing the importance of local empowerment and strategic partnerships in achieving equitable access to broadband. We advise clients to advocate for policies that support community-driven broadband solutions, such as obtaining middle-mile provider contracts or bundling internet services into homeowner association (HOA) fees. We encourage leveraging public-private partnerships and using policy advocacy to challenge state regulations that hinder municipal broadband efforts, while highlighting successful case studies, like our work with Veridian at County Farm, to demonstrate the potential benefits of such initiatives.
