Community Internet Ecosystem Vision

A vision describes ideal goals, that drive the direction for an organization. Our organization uses this vision to drive our iterative, incremental approach to moving along our roadmap. By taking an agile approach, each iteration will produce results that can be measured with metrics that we employ. Thus, individual communities may be differently suited for the adoption of various subsets of this vision. For example, while our vision is to produce leaders, who will run Community Owned Internet Networks, we are happy if someone taking one of our courses is then better able to get a job with an incumbent ISP.

Artificial Intelligence is integrated with most of the tools that our platform employs and teaches our members how to use. We offer policy advice to government officials employing chatbots that we have built by uploading multitude documents to a large language model.

Economic Stability

At the heart of our vision is the creation of affordable homes that are part of a regenerative, circular economy, as opposed to the extractive nature of not only the incumbent ISP’s, but also extraction of wealth by megacorporations that employ various forms of monopolies and monopsonies. We are designed as a member owned, platform cooperative that supports “Open Access” and thus promotes a more local marketplace for products and services.

Access to Quality Education

LearnDash is used to develop curricula for our courses. The course materials we create are all licensed as Creative Commons and thus may be reused by Community Colleges and other educational operations. LearnDash also enables the scoring of quizzes and awarding certificates, which can be associated with points that tokenize successful participation efforts. These “points” may be used to purchase certain categories of things in the marketplace that we are constructing. The marketplace will support some transactions, but the essential purpose is to connect people and organizations to each other, with searchable individual member profiles and organization profiles. Support for job postings is one such feature. Our model for growth is to employ “train the trainer.”

Social and Civic Engagement

Our platform uses BuddyBoss to create public, private or hidden Groups. These groups contain concurrent operations, such as instant messaging, discussion Forums, event listings, photo sharing, video conferencing, and e-commerce, making it like Facebook without the Nazis. Groups may contain one to many courses and each course can belong to one to many groups. Our platform includes provisions for groups to become “organizations” in our ecosystem so that they may sell products and services to our marketplace. Finally, our marketplace includes organizations that will build, connect and operate the Internet infrastructure. Those organizations may be hiring members whom we certify.

Community Access to Internet Technology

We will enhance community access to Internet technology by developing affordable, community-driven broadband infrastructure. Our training initiatives will empower residents to participate in deploying and managing internet services, ensuring sustainable, equitable digital access.

Access to Healthcare

We will support improved access to telehealth services by promoting digital literacy among residents and staff of housing organizations. Through our training, participants will learn to use telehealth and online healthcare platforms effectively, helping bridge the digital divide in health access.

After a serious spinal cord injury, Dr. Ron Suarez became a tetraplegic and lives in a Google assist smart home enabling voice commands for:

  • Locking and unlocking entrance doors
  • Viewing of cameras at entrance doors
  • Thermostat control
  • Lights control
  • Fans control
  • Music/Video selections from Youtube to Netflix

AI tools

  • Otter AI – real time transcriptions
  • Fathom Note-taker – real time zoom call note-taking
  • InVideo – creates videos w/ AI
  • ChatGPT – writing full content for well researched information

We also aim to help the community by educating them on innovative methods and technologies that can be adopted to get things done more efficiently. By introducing and training them in the use of these advanced tools and techniques, we empower individuals to overcome barriers and achieve greater independence and productivity in their daily lives.
